All about us
In Dubmire, we encourage pupils to reach their full potential in everything they do. All year groups try to achieve high standards in a wide variety of different subjects. Staff give plenty of opportunities to Y6, such as Head Boy and Head Girl (us), Playleaders, House Captains, Librarians and Anti -Bullying Ambassadors. Currently, we hold the Golden Anti-bullying Award, which we are very proud of. In Dubmire, every child is special and unique.
Our school logo is a rainbow with children under it. The children represent Daycare, Early Years/Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The school colour is purple. We wear our uniforms to represent our school when we are out on a trip. Since we have scanning badges, our school is safe and secure.
We have just finished the new nursery and reception. Children can discover technology with IPads. We think it looks awesome! In recent weeks, we have built a new sensory room.
We have a Daycare. All of the staff are friendly and will help children prepare for school. Toddlers have the opportunity to discover new things with their senses.
After school, we have many clubs. For those interested in sport, we have: netball, football, tag rugby, fit for fun for the younger ones and karate. Our school football team has been very successful. The A team had recently gotten into the finals and won second place. The B team won the challenge cup! We also have cookery and I.C.T club.
For the musical people, we have many instrument lessons and performing arts. Every year we have a main summer show, which is directed by Miss Harrison. In 2016, we did the production of Ever After.
Dubmire is very supportive of charities around the world like: Children In Need, Red Nose Day, Race for Life and Macmillan Cancer Support. Every time, we raise lots and lots of money. For days like this, we sell cakes, do fun charity games and have a non -uniform day. For Race for Life, we do laps around the field and get sponsored. In 2015 we raised over £1200 for Children in Need.
Every year, children have the chance to go on educational visits. In 2016, we went to London and Kingswood. We also have a link with a Chinese school called Jing Wei Primary. In the past, pupils have visited China and have had a great time. Mr Ross is our International Coordinator.
