Dubmire Primary school is a calm and safe place to be. The importance of having rules to maintain this is stressed every day. Pupils are expected to follow our behaviour system and are also taught the reasons for rules, the responsibilities that this involves and the consequences when rules are broken.
Children work with class teachers to devise classroom rules and playground leaders have a responsibility to promote the playground rules. There are many reward systems in school designed to recognise good behaviour, for example the celebration assembly and ‘Star of the Week’ awards.
Through our school assemblies, circle time and PSHE children are taught how to earn trust and respect and are supported to develop a strong sense of morality; recognising and knowing right from wrong and choosing to do the right thing even when it’s difficult.
