The Environment
The space in which your children will spend most of their day has been carefully designed to keep them safe, appear inviting and is regularly reviewed to ensure we offer the best possible for your children and their growing needs. The daycare is divided into two separate rooms – baby unit and toddler/preschool unit. Each provides a light spacious environment for your children to strive. The outdoor provision is an extension to the indoor space, a shared area for Daycare, Dubmire Nursery and Reception for children to come together to play.
The Baby Unit
The Baby Unit has 3 main areas with space for 12 babies to play and explore freely and safely. It compromises a separate sleep/changing area where the children can sleep in a calm and peaceful environment, a main carpeted play area softened by rugs and snugs for the children to play and relax and a wet area where children can experience messy play, sand, water activities, also offering a distinguished dining area and is very adaptable to the varying aged children accessing the unit. Throughout the room we aim to provide a warm, loving and caring environment with a range of resources specifically designed to stimulate and encourage your child’s development.
The Toddler and Preschool Room
The Toddler room and Preschool Room is a large space for children. The room is divided appropriately for differing aged children. The toddler side reflects aspects from the baby unit and opportunities from the preschool room. Both rooms have a construction, role play, home corner, book area, mark making, malleable, sand, water and small world. The toddler area has a cosy sleep/sensory area for those children who need a rest throughout the day. Both sides have easy access to the outdoor play provision and children are encouraged to play freely between the areas.
The Outdoor Provision
The outdoor area is an area shared with Dubmire Nursery and Reception, promoting a seamless transition through each aspect of the Early Years Foundation Stage. The area reflects similar opportunities to extend the indoor learning experiences, comprising a construction, role play, cosy area, sound garden, sand, water and mark making. The area also promotes gross motor development.
