Year 3 visited the Stadium of Light in Sunderland for poetry writing. The staff at the stadium commented on the wonderful behaviour from the children as well as their enthusiasm for writing. Although very impressed with our knowledge of verbs, adjectives and adverbs, they were blown away with our excellent choice of vocabulary. Well done to all involved!
Year 3 have had a tremendous trip to Arbeia Roman Fort in South Shields! Despite the weather – four seasons in one day – the children and staff thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
The children were archaeologists for the morning. They experienced digging up real Roman artifacts and asked questions about them.
We looked at Roman remains in the ground. Although very blustery, we could see the shapes of the rooms that once existed.
The models in the gateway of the fort, were very interesting.
