Personal Development Draft

Coming soon...

At Dubmire, we recognise the importance of developing responsible, respectful and active citizens within a caring, inclusive and supportive school environment.

The taught curriculum

Well-structured PSHE and RSE lessons are delivered through the use of the Jigsaw curriculum: a whole school approach which teaches children emotional literacy and the skills to equip children for happier and healthier lives.

OPAL provision

Children have daily access to a quality outdoor provision where they develop improved social skills, problem-solving skills, manage their own risks and become more creative.

We have recently been awarded our Silver OPAL award.

Children with SEND are supported through Quality First Teaching, targeted interventions where needed and support plans reflect and support individual needs. Sensory breaks are planned in to help children build resilience and develop strategies to regulate emotionally.

Extra Curricular activities

We offer a wide range of extra curricular activities from football to Performing arts.  Please see our Curriculum section of our website for more information.

The Rainbow Flag

Dubmire has been awarded 'The Rainbow Flag' which recognises the work that school has carried out toward building a diverse and inclusive curriculum and environment.

For more information about the Rainbow Flag please see......

Through our inclusive curriculum, children challenge stereotypes and explore diversity in the work place.

We also held a careers week in March where people from many different jobs came to speak to the children from Nursery to Y6.

Our Year 5 children follow the Positive Footprints program which encourages children to raise their aspirations.

Well-being for staff and pupils

Miss Hardy is our well-being lead.  She is supported by Mrs Anderson as a member of SLT and a team of staff from school who meet regularly to review well-being and plan activities.

See our Well-being section of our website for further information on some of our recent events.
